CAG – Past & Present
Calvert Architectural Group, Inc. (CAG) was founded in 1996 by Thomas A. Calvert, AIA, NCARB. From the very beginning CAG has provided design services for speculative Industrial and Commercial facilities, including some Public Building related venues. As the years of practice progressed, CAG has elected to concentrate on supply chain projects for specific end users of manufacturing and distribution facilities – including hazardous material storage – which has become the focus of our core services.
Along with the supply chain project tenure in the early 2000’s, CAG started to regularly participate in projects that included the storage, and or use of, Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) such as Flammable & Combustible Liquids, Corrosives, Oxidizers, Toxics, Unstable Reactives, and the like. The decision to learn this specialized skill set was purposeful. Over the past twenty-five years CAG has become an expert on the various Hazardous Occupancy Groups and is exceedingly well-versed with the Building Codes and Fire Life Safety Standards governing the design of such facilities. We have also become very adept in developing Requests for Alternative Means & Methods solutions when practical difficulties prohibit full code compliance of an existing facility. Currently, Supply Chain projects with H-Occupancies represent approximately seventy percent of our yearly project log – CAG has provided services for millions of square feet affiliated with H-Occupancies. Additionally, CAG has a one hundred percent success rate for AHJ approvals on every Hazardous Occupancy project we have designed to date.
