ASHLAND, INC./ VALVOLINE DISTRIBUTION CENTER
CAG was retained by Ashland Chemical to bring the above referenced 186,000 sq. ft. facility into compliance with the jurisdictional agencies & codes and Ashland Corporate Safety Standards. Services included MSDS product review, hazardous classifying of materials, review of facility operations, code research, design, A&E construction document services and agency coordination. Code compliance required construction improvements that would support the Occupancy conversion of S-1 Occupancy storage areas to H-2 & H-3 Occupancies as well as the separation of aerosol storage from other areas. It was also necessary to employ Alternative Means and Methods on some aspects of the occupancy conversion that surfaced during the design due to the existing building configuration. CAG identified alternate safety measures and that were reviewed, and the AM&M was deemed sufficient to offset the non-compliant aspects and the design and plans were approved by the city Of Hernando, MS.
